Parker is playing basketball with the city league for the first time this year. He is #2 on the Tigers. The games have been so fun to watch. It is still as funny as baseball, only faster!
The refs are pretty easy going. There is a lot of traveling, double dribbling, and fouling going on out there, but unless it gets really nasty, they don't call it.

The Face

Spencer has started doing "The Face." Evidently, this was something I used to do around the same age. He smiles, crinkles his nose, and breathes really heavy from his nose. It is the cutest! He is also becoming more mobile--rolling over very easily. We did the "cry it out" thing a couple of weeks ago and he is now going to sleep awake in his own crib. Overall, he is sleeping much better, but we are still adjusting. Spencer has also started saying "Mama" and "Nigh-Nigh" when he is tired. These 7 months have just flown by!

Skating on Thin Ice

Our newest shopping center opened up a temporary ice skating rink. Parker was dying to go--obviously he has never seen his mom on ice skates! Justin was a good sport and spent 2 hours inching around the rink with Parker.
There was one really good fall where for a moment I was sure we were going to end up in the ER with a broken bone, but after just a few minutes on the sidelines, Parker was ready to get back on the ice.

Hold the Bacon

This morning we went over to our friend's pig farm to see the baby piggies. There were 3 litters of pigs, one as new as this morning. The babies were so cute!

The adults on the other hand, not as attractive and incredibly gianormous!

It was nice to get the farm experience by just traveling a couple of miles. There were ducks, geese, chickens, roosters, baby chicks, and of course, the pigs. Parker was in hog heaven with all the animals.

Spencer was happy to have so much to look at and seems to be following in his dad and big brother's footsteps as an animal lover.

Welcome to 2009!

Being the exciting and adventurous people that we are, we hung out with my parents for New Year's Eve. It was quite the party, let me tell you. We played Uno, had milkshakes, and chilled in my dad's new bean bag chair that is the size of a small pool. We were home and in bed by 10pm. I was the only one who managed to make it till midnight so I celebrated on my own with Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest. Happy New Years to all of you!

Cactus Anyone?

I took Parker grocery shopping with me the other day and this is what he found. Since he is not one to try new things, I was surprised that he was so willing to eat it. (This coming from the kid who cried once because I made him try a new kind of brownie!) Sure enough, later that night he had cactus with his burrito.
Spencer wanted in on the action but will have to wait a while to try this delicacy.
