First Swim of 2009

As our kids have grown, it has been easy to see what parts of their personalities they get from each of us. Our boys get their love of animals and the outdoors from Justin and their love of the pool from me. We had our first swim of the year a few weeks ago. Even though the water was still a little cold, neither boy seemed to mind. We have been swimming as much as possible ever since. Not only do they have fun, there is an added bonus because they both fall asleep quickly at bedtime. School is out in 2 more weeks. We are so ready for summer to begin!

Bobcat

Parker has earned his first scout ranking as Bobcat. We are about half way done with the Wolf rank and are having so much fun working on it. At our last Pack Meeting, Parker was presented with his Bobcat patch and presented me with the mother's pin. He will be attending his first day camp in just a few weeks. He is looking forward to the bb gun activities (who would have ever guessed?!)

Mother's Day

Here are some of the pictures I took to give our moms for Mother's Day this year.

I've Created A Monster. A Cookie Monster, That Is

There is one sound in our house that has become very familiar to Spencer--the sound of our mixer turning on. He automatically assumes that we are making cookies and gets very excited! When the timer rings, he wants his cookie ASAP and gets mad that he has to wait for them to cool. Spencer loves his chocolate chip cookies just like his big brother. He can easily eat 1-2 cookies. At this rate, I will probably have to double the recipe to have enough cookies for both boys in a few years!

Lollies

In the great tradition of his cousin Emma, Spencer is obsessed with lollies (lollipops.) A couple of weeks ago, Papa Tom gave him one at church and by the time we got home, he was a sticky mess. He was so sticky, that when I wiped his face, the tissue stuck to his cheeks. Needless to say, another bath was necessary, which of course he didn't mind. We couldn't get it away from him, so he went in the tub with it.

Hey Batter Batter!

Parker started his 4th and final year of the city league baseball. He is #12 on the Texas Rangers. He loves playing 1st base and catcher and is hitting and catching really well this year.

He has a sweet team that is really cute. There are two girls on the team, so there are often cheers coming from the dugout. There are also a set of twin boys who sound like Ralph Wiggum from The Simpsons. They say the most random things and keep us all laughing!

Spencer loves watching his BB playing ball. He sits in the stands with me, eating Cheerios and popsicles all while wearing his shades. It is weird to think that this time last year, I was pregnant with him.

Our Miracle Has Arrived!
