Big N' Chunky

Here is some video of Spencer dancing to his favorite song, Will.i.am's "Big N' Chunky" from Madagascar 2. It is just a glimpse of what he does because he gets shy when he sees the camera. His other favorite song is Beyonce's "Single Ladies." The kid has good taste in music!

Our First Park Day of the Year

We spent several hours at the park yesterday soaking up the sun. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect! The kids all played great together, so the moms got "adult conversation" time. Spencer had his first ride in the baby swing and loved it!

A Sweet Moment

I just had to post a picture from our trip to the grocery store this week. Parker is out on Spring Break, so I had both boys with me. He suggested that he and Spencer ride in the car cart. Spencer loved it! Parker showed him how to beep the horn and shared his shamrock cookie with him. Big brothers are the best!

Our Turn

Every year, our Elder's Quorum at church has their own version of the Pinewood Derby. There are no rules, so anything goes. I made my first car ever, the Silver Beaver (named after one of scouting's highest ranks--and I thought it was a funny name)

and Justin named his the Summerset Surprise after the retirement/"active adult" golf community located in our ward.

We had a lot of laughs and tons of fun racing with our friends. We also got some great ideas for next years car.

A friend of mine recently said that the best thing about being married is that you are with someone who knows you best, the good and the bad, and loves you anyways. I was fortunate enough to find someone who so patiently puts up with my good and bad and still loves me after 10 years. Hopefully after 10 years I can get some of these answers right!

Drivers, Start Your Engines

We are having so much fun as Parker's Cub Scout Leaders! For the second week of Parker's scouting experience, our building had their annual Pinewood Derby competition. I was shocked when I opened the box with the supplies to discover that you are given a rectangular block of wood to carve your car out of. Fortunately, Justin knew what he was doing. He pulled out my Grandpa Bacciocco's old chisels and he and Parker set off to create their first of many PW Derby cars.

It's Great to Be 8

It is hard to believe that our baby is 8! Parker has been counting down until his baptism for months now. He was a bit worried of what the temperature of the water would be and for how long he would be under the water. An hour before it was time to go, Parker got his suit on and we presented him with his first real set of scriptures, just as our parents had done for us when we were baptized. When we got to the church, Parker and Justin changed into their white jumpsuits while we waited for our friends and family to arrive. It was such a wonderful experience watching your own child choose to be baptized a member of the Church. When they were changing back into their suits, Parker told Justin, "I feel so clean!" It was a great day!
