I spent yesterday afternoon with my mother-in-law recovering the chairs to the kitchen table my mom passed down to me. The original fabric on the chairs was an off white check--a horrendous combination when you have people actually using them while they eat.
It took a couple of hours to cover the seats with first the new fabric and then a thin clear vinyl layer (for easy clean up.) Parker gave my project a two thumbs up! Martha Stewart, watch out!![]()

Fun Friday

Friday marked the 100th day of school for Parker and he was supposed to come dressed to school as if he were 100 years old. He was excited about it the night before, but when it came down to it, no amount of bribing could get him to wear this out of the house. Well, it was fun while it lasted!
We also got another chance to see our baby boy in another ultrasound. At first, he was in the same exact position as last time, but after a little pep talk from mom, he finally flipped around so we could see his face!
And finally, as you may have heard, the weather out here has been cold and wet. We were able to catch a quick glimpse of the snow--yes, SNOW!-- on Mt. Diablo (20 miles West of us.) We had twice as much the day before, but you couldn't see it as well because of the clouds. This winter has felt colder than any I ever spent in Utah. My California blood has finally returned. It seemed as if it took the past 3-4 years to feel cold here at winter time. I have never worn a jacket until this year. Brrrr!

Suit Up!

Parker was so excited to wear his new suit to church today that he got dressed 2 hours early. He then proceeded to brush his teeth and comb his hair (with the help of a deadly amount of gel--I think his hair punctured my hand!) all on his own without being asked. About an hour later, he came and told me that he had just cleaned out his earwax using Q-tips. It was one of those moments as a mom where you just have to laugh! We then put on his "Future Missionary" tag and polished his shoes. He looked so handsome!

The Baby Room
We got the news that today that everything with the ultrasound looks great and my AFP came back negative (it tests for spina bifida, down syndrome, and other neural tube defects.) So to celebrate, I ordered the crib set and diaper holder! Parker has decided on a puppy themed room and wants to paint pictures of different dogs for the baby. He is so thrilled to be having a brother and keeps asking me why June is sooooo far away. I will post pictures in a few months once we get the baby's room all done. Thanks to each of you for your excitement at this special time for our family!

We Are Having A...

Parker is so excited because we are having a...boy!!! We had our big ultrasound today to check on the baby. So far things look healthy and right on track. We couldn't be more excited! Baby Jeffs was very active during everything. He had his ankles crossed and appeared to be sucking his thumb. He is also laying horizontally which would explain why I keep feeling kicks on my left side. We watched in amazement as the tech measured everything and described what we were seeing. This definitely made it more real for both of us. Afterwards, we headed out to buy our "leaving the hospital" outfit--I have been looking at it for months. We feel so blessed to bring this sweet little baby into our home and can't wait until his arrival in June!

I Love A Rainy Night

We finally had a break from the rain tonight and decided to make the most of it, so we went puddle stomping! We were soaked by the time we got home, but we managed to find some pretty big puddles!
